My life and the way I think about myself have completely changed since starting CrossFit. When I first walked through the doors of our gym, I was terrified. However, I was also excited. I had been thinking about trying CrossFit for almost a year before working up the courage to actually do it. Looking back, I want to kick myself for waiting so long.
I remember being embarrassed that I could barely do a pull up with the green band and even then, Brandon had to help me swing up. But, I quickly got over my embarrassment when I realized that everyone is so supportive. That is the best thing about our QCCF community: we encourage each other and WANT each other to succeed.
Before CrossFit, I hadn’t picked up a barbell in my life. It has been 10 months and I’ve gone from a deadlift of 75# to 200#, back squatting 45# to 125# and finally mastering double unders. I also shaved 11 minutes off my Half Marathon time from the previous year. I was amazed that replacing running with CrossFit would get me a Half Marathon PR!
Thank you QCCF! Finding my own strength is the best thing I’ve ever done. Now, I walk through our gym doors more excited than ever to see where this crazy journey takes me!!
